The premium intelligent automotive brand ⟨G0⟩ — jointly developed by ⟨G1⟩ and BAIC — officially launched pre-orders for its third production model, the ⟨G0⟩ G9, in 2026. Positioned as a full-size intelligent electric SUV, its official pre-order price is RMB 439,800 (approx. USD 65,120), and it will be sold simultaneously through ⟨G1⟩'s HIMA (⟨G5⟩ Alliance) sales channels.

A Long-Awaited 'Off-Road' SUV

As ⟨G0⟩'s third model following the flagship sedan S9 and the shooting-brake S9T, the G9 is marketed as the brand's "first off-road SUV." Notably, although joint venture partner ⟨G6⟩ has long specialized in off-road technology — and operates its own independent "⟨G3⟩" brand — the ⟨G0⟩ G9 does not adopt a body-on-frame architecture. Instead, it is an intelligent electric crossover SUV built on a monocoque platform. Its dimensions measure 5206 × 2050 × 1897 mm, with a wheelbase of 3160 mm; total length extends to 5377 mm when equipped with a rear-mounted spare tire. Approach and departure angles are 23° and 26° respectively, and maximum wading depth reaches 900 mm — indicating a focus on light off-roading and all-terrain capability rather than hardcore rock crawling.

Deep Technical Integration from ⟨G1⟩

The ⟨G0⟩ G9 integrates multiple core ⟨G1⟩ technologies: its front fascia features an all-new design language combining circular LED elements with vertical rectangular lighting units; standard equipment includes ⟨G1⟩'s Xpixel intelligent projection headlights, supporting dynamic lighting effects and image projection; an 892-line LiDAR is mounted on the roof, paired with ⟨G1⟩'s A⟨G7⟩ advanced intelligent driving system. Two powertrain options are offered: extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV). The EREV version uses a 1.5T range extender (max output 118 kW) and a 75 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC all-electric range of 405 km and a combined range of 1366 km. The BEV variant employs the same dual-motor, four-wheel-drive system (peak output 437 kW / 586 hp) with a 120 kWh battery pack, achieving a CLTC range of 728 km. All variants support up to 2000 kg of towing capacity.

The interior adopts a triple-screen layout — fully digital instrument cluster, central infotainment display, and front passenger entertainment screen; features an electronic column-mounted shifter; and integrates wireless charging, physical function buttons, and concealed storage compartments into the center console. Seating configurations include 5-seat (2+3) and 6-seat (2+2+2) layouts, with the 6-seat version offering heated, ventilated, massaging second-row seats plus powered leg rests.

Market Performance Remains to Be Seen

According to China EV DataTracker, ⟨G0⟩ delivered 21,044 vehicles in the first half of 2026, indicating the brand remains in its early market penetration phase. The launch of the G9 is viewed as a pivotal move to boost brand visibility and broaden its user base. Whether it can leverage ⟨G1⟩'s distribution strength and technological branding to achieve differentiated market success remains to be validated by real-world customer feedback.
