During the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21, 2026, Zhu Yong, General Manager of SAIC Motor SHANGJIE Automobile, and Yang Siyao, Head of Marketing Department, told media in an exclusive interview that as the youngest of Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's 'Five Realms', SHANGJIE is reshaping market perceptions of Huawei-collaboration vehicles through a differentiated user base and robust manufacturing heritage.

Data shows strong delivery momentum for the SHANGJIE Z7 since deliveries began at the end of May: over 10,000 units delivered in June alone; cumulative deliveries exceeding 20,000 units by July; and more than 4,500 units delivered by mid-August. More notably, its user profile stands out — users under 35 account for over 40%, and female users also exceed 40%, with many former iPhone users among them. This demographic significantly diverges from the mature, staid user base typical of previous Huawei collaboration models — marking Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's first large-scale breakthrough in both youth and female markets.
SHANGJIE attributes this success to clear brand positioning and a disciplined product rollout strategy. Officially, it champions the 16-character philosophy: "Style First, Technology First, Trust First, People First," leveraging SAIC Motor's 70 years of vehicle manufacturing expertise alongside Huawei's intelligent technologies. For example, the H5 has introduced HUAWEI HarmonySpace and HarmonyOS-powered intelligent electric drive systems into the RMB 150,000–200,000 price segment and earned CIASI 3G+ and C-NCAP ultra-five-star safety ratings; the Z7 debuts Huawei's 'Xiao Yi New Brain' large model, with upcoming shooting-brake and new variants targeting outdoor and performance use cases — prioritizing iterative product upgrades over price wars.
On the manufacturing side, SHANGJIE adheres to a 'dual-standard' quality control system: complying both with SAIC Motor's stringent global vehicle production standards and Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's unified quality requirements. The Shanghai Jinqiao Industry 4.0 Factory has deployed invisible AI technologies — including AI-guided adhesive application and AI-based paint inspection — while the Nanjing Jiangning Base continues German engineering traditions. Zhu Yong revealed that SAIC Motor has already assigned a 5,000-person team and invested RMB 6 billion in foundational infrastructure for SHANGJIE; an additional RMB 1 billion will be dedicated to expanding the Jinqiao factory in 2026, with further investment planned.
Looking ahead, SHANGJIE confirmed a new model will debut in Q4 this year, while the Z7 series will receive minor version updates. L3-level autonomous driving technology is fully prepared — but its rollout will balance cost, regulatory readiness, and user accessibility. "Those who learn from me thrive; those who merely imitate me perish," emphasized Yang Siyao, underscoring that SHANGJIE charts its own course — not copying others — to broaden and deepen Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's reach.
