iCAR V25 Unveiled: Retro Box-Shape Extended-Range SUV Targets Young Family Buyers

Recently, iCAR unveiled the production-ready exterior of its all-new V25 model at the Chengdu Vparty Night. As another key addition following the V23 and V27, the V25 is positioned as the "young generation's top choice for an intelligent, stylish SUV." Its retro, rugged box-shaped design serves as a visual anchor, while extended-range powertrain and full-stack intelligent driving hardware lay the foundation for diverse lifestyle use cases — including urban commuting, social outings, and light camping. The vehicle is scheduled to make another appearance at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show.

Design-wise, the iCAR V25 carries forward the brand's "Future Classic" language, featuring a vertical A-pillar, flared wide-body wheel arches, and a sculpted, robust hood — delivering an upscale, substantial presence. Dimensions measure 4636 × 1920 × 1855 mm, with a 2820 mm wheelbase. Its four-wheel-at-corners layout — paired with a 736 mm front overhang and 920 mm rear overhang — ensures parking agility while maximizing cabin space. Exterior color options include white, black, silver, green, and matte gray; interior trims are offered in beige, black-gray, and brown.

The front fascia features signature retro-style circular LED headlights with thick bezels: high-beam illumination reaches over 170 meters, while low-beam lateral spread extends up to 31 meters. A dual-tone active AGS grille supports stepless independent adjustment, reducing drag by approximately 15 counts. Standard 21-inch wheels are wrapped in 265 mm-wide tires; ground clearance stands at 197 mm, with a 30° approach angle, 28° departure angle, and 17° breakover angle — sufficient for light off-road capability.

The rear design emphasizes personalization: the high-mounted brake light adopts a modular LEGO-inspired nine-grid layout; a dedicated handcrafted figurine display box mounting point sits above the taillights; the 88° wide-opening side-hinged tailgate uses forged hinges and offers stepless position-holding; and an externally mounted 22.7 L storage pouch adds both utility and playful charm.

Per prior MIIT regulatory filings, the iCAR V25 will be powered by the SQRH4J15 1.5T range extender engine (max output: 115 kW), paired with a 33.679 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Its CLTC all-electric ranges are rated at 145 km and 150 km, with corresponding fuel consumption figures of 6.9 L/100 km and 7.15 L/100 km under charge-sustaining conditions — likely corresponding to two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants, respectively. Additionally, the vehicle offers optional LiDAR, expected to pair with Horizon Robotics' Journey 6P chip and the Falcon 700+ intelligent driving solution, enabling urban and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). However, the official rollout timeline and delivery status of these ADAS capabilities remain unannounced.
