On July 2, Epicland and Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving jointly unveiled the core technologies of the 2026 Epicland X9 during a special live broadcast on CCTV News' program One Extraordinary Step : China's Automotive Leap Forward. The live broadcast officially launched the industry's highest-standard safety architecture — the "Tianqiong Smart Shield". This is not merely a stack of isolated technologies, but a native-level deep integration with Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5, forming a closed loop across six dimensions: intelligent driving safety, active safety, passive safety, battery safety, rescue safety, and health safety. Passive safety features 2400 MPa ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel (B-pillar), with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy comprising over 92% of the body structure. Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5 completed its world-first nighttime real-world test during the broadcast, tackling three rigorous scenarios that directly address common nighttime user pain points:
- "Dual Glare" High-Intensity Light Test: At 120 km/h against harsh backlighting, it precisely identified a low-profile obstacle just 14 cm tall and autonomously decelerated and evaded;
- Rain-and-Fog Chain Test: Under combined heavy rain and dense fog with severely reduced visibility, it stably detected fallen traffic cones, roadside dummies, and a disabled vehicle hidden behind a water curtain;
- "Maze Breakthrough" Test: On unmarked, complex roads, it successfully navigated five consecutive challenges — including barrier-lift passage, sharp 90-degree turns, and maneuvering around suspended obstacles fully autonomously, with zero human intervention.
The test leveraged an 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR paired with a distributed 4D millimeter-wave radar fusion perception system. Its tempered-glass sensor window withstood repeated steel-wool scrubbing by Nigemaiti on live TV without scratching, demonstrated exceptional hardware reliability.

Rescue Safety: The Long-Ignored Golden Window
Epicland X9 pioneers a dedicated rescue safety system: upon collision, centrally mounted supercapacitors maintain power to ensure door unlocking; the infotainment system automatically displays emergency response instructions and simultaneously triggers SOS remote rescue alerts alerts, uploading precise real-time location data to backend systems and dispatching the nearest rescue resources.
