The latest batch of the Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products, released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), features the official filing of the Avatr T09. As Avatr's debut plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV, the T09 is positioned as a six-seat, mid-to-large-size luxury SUV — marking a pivotal shift for Avatr in both powertrain strategy and market positioning.

According to the filing, the T09 measures 5,285 mm (length) × 2,025 mm (width) × 1,810/1,820 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3,150 mm and front/rear track widths of 1,726 mm and 1,740 mm respectively. Its curb weight ranges from 2,880–3,035 kg, and its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) reaches up to 3,630 kg. The vehicle supports external charging; tire options include 255/50R21 and 275/45R22. It comes standard with an event data recorder (EDR) and offers ETC onboard equipment as an option.
Exterior styling offers extensive customization: multiple front grille and wheel designs, panoramic glass roof, front/rear bumpers, side steps, and rear spoilers. Dual-tone paint and exclusive exterior badging are also available. Notably, the T09's overall design language departs significantly from earlier Avatr models like the 011 and 012 — visually aligning more closely with BYD's Yangwang U8, prompting industry discussion about Avatr's evolving design independence.
Under the hood, the T09 is equipped across all variants with a 71.24 kWh ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL, paired with two distinct PHEV powertrains:
- Variant One: 1.5L engine (model JL469ZQ1), net engine output 105 kW, plus dual motors (front/rear) with peak outputs of 180 kW and 310 kW respectively — delivering a combined 955 hp;
- Variant Two: 2.0L engine (model JL478ZQ1), net engine output 150 kW, with a tri-motor layout (front/left-rear/right-rear), motor peak outputs of 180 kW, 225 kW, and 225 kW respectively — both variants achieve a top speed of 220 km/h.
Pricing and launch timing for the Avatr T09 remain unannounced. Further details on specifications and sales rollout await official confirmation.
