BYD's new flagship pure electric sedan, the Han EV (DaHan), has made its first public appearance, attracting widespread attention. As the flagship D-segment sedan in the Dynasty series, the car has not yet been officially released, but it has been exposed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's new vehicle application catalog and was recently photographed undergoing road testing, confirming its complete exterior design.
According to Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD's Dynasty series , the Han EV will officially debut at the Chengdu International Auto Show, held from August 21st to 30th, 2026. He hinted that "more surprises will be revealed at the event," but did not announce the final price or launch date.
The official confirmation indicates that the CLTC version of this vehicle boasts a range of 1008 kilometers under standard operating conditions and will be equipped with BYD's new generation Blade Battery 2.0 and flash charging technology. Reportedly, the new battery supports 1500kW super-fast charging, charging from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and a full charge from 10% to 97% in only 9 minutes.
The vehicle measures 5256mm × 1999mm × 1510mm, with a wheelbase of 3130mm, making it larger than the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air, and close to the long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In terms of power, it offers two configurations: a single-motor rear-wheel drive (maximum power 370kW) and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (combined maximum power 570kW).
As the sedan version of the flagship SUV Han Tang , the Han EV is expected to be priced similarly to the Han Tang – the latter's pre-sale price starts at 250,000 yuan. The Han Tang has already received over 100,000 orders and began delivering its first batch of vehicles to customers last month.
