Geely Galaxy A7 EM Sets New World Record for PHEV Range at 2,608 km

The Geely Galaxy A7 EM has officially received Guinness World Records certification as the 'production plug-in hybrid sedan achieving the longest distance on a single full tank and full charge.' Under official Guinness supervision, the vehicle completed a continuous drive of 2,608.360 km without refueling or recharging.

The five-day challenge traversed Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong provinces, covering complex road conditions including mountain tunnels, congested urban areas, and extended uphill stretches. Thanks to stable energy management and a highly efficient powertrain, the A7 EM not only surpassed its own limits but also decisively beat the previous record of 2,369.950 km held by the Chery Fulwin A8L.

Its core powertrain is the 'EM AI Super Hybrid 2.0' system: a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 47.26% thermal efficiency; paired with an integrated '11-in-1' electric drive unit featuring a single-speed DHT transmission and a drive motor rated at up to 175 kW (235 hp). The battery pack is the 'Aegis Golden Brick Battery,' offering a maximum CLTC all-electric range of 235 km.

During the challenge, the vehicle's AI energy management system continuously optimized gasoline-electric coordination strategies. Even after the battery was fully depleted, fuel consumption remained impressively low — around 2 L/100 km — demonstrating the synergistic potential of high thermal-efficiency engines and intelligent hybrid architecture.

The Geely Galaxy A7 EM officially launched on April 22, 2026, with a starting price of ¥119,800. Its 47.26% thermal-efficiency EM AI Super Hybrid 2.0 system was first unveiled in 2025.

In the market, the Galaxy brand has become Geely's top-selling new energy sub-brand. Data shows global sales reached 108,206 units in June 2026 — a 19.9% year-on-year increase and a 32.4% month-on-month rise.
