BYD Sealion 08 First-Day Orders Surpass 12,000 Units

BYD's latest flagship SUV — the Sealion 08 — launched sales on September 2, racking up over 12,000 orders within just 24 hours.

The vehicle is offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants, with a starting price of ¥229,900. The BEV version features a 115.072 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 900 km CLTC all-electric range (rear-wheel drive); the PHEV variant packs a 55.843 kWh battery, offering 400 km CLTC pure-electric range and a total system range of 1,650 km.

All trims come standard with Blade Battery 2.0 and fast charging technology — capable of charging from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and from 10% to 97% in only nine minutes. Inside, it features a 17.3-inch floating central touchscreen, a 26-inch AR-HUD, a 21.4-inch overhead rear-seat entertainment display, DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, and the God's Eye 5.0 intelligent driving system.
