Audi Q9 Horch PHEV Spy Shots Leaked, Launch Expected in July

Recently, spy shots of the Audi Q9 Horch plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant have surfaced for the first time. As Audi's all-new flagship SUV, the model is expected to officially launch in July 2026 and will compete directly with the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS in the premium full-size SUV segment.

The newly revealed PHEV version builds upon the existing gasoline-powered Q9, retaining its overall silhouette while further elevating its flagship status through Horch-exclusive design language: the front features a vertical multi-spoke grille, a more substantial front bumper, and Audi's signature split-headlight layout — upper elements serve as DRL strips with programmable lighting signatures; the rear carries over the family Y-shaped LED taillights, echoing the A6L's styling for strong visual recognition. Side profile lines are smooth and voluminous, paired with 22-inch wheels to emphasize presence and luxury.

Inside, the vehicle adopts Audi's latest digital cockpit layout, featuring a triple-screen setup: an 11.9-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch passenger entertainment display. Seating configurations include six- and seven-seat variants, while the Horch edition may offer an exclusive four-seat configuration to enhance rear-passenger premium experience.

Under the hood, the vehicle is rumored to feature two plug-in hybrid powertrains — one pairing a 3.0T engine with an electric motor, the other a 4.0T engine with an electric motor — both mated to quattro all-wheel drive as standard. Pure-electric range is expected to reach up to 100 km; however, official specifications remain unconfirmed, and final performance and configuration details await official announcement.
