Audi is reviving the iconic A2 nameplate with a fresh, all-electric identity — its most accessible EV to date. Ahead of its official debut, the vehicle was spotted on the streets of Copenhagen, Denmark, wearing minimal camouflage; its silhouette and key design details are clearly visible, signaling that the production version is nearly finalized.

Classic Design Reimagined — Balancing Aerodynamics and Modern Appeal

The new model draws clear inspiration from the original A2's efficient 'egg-shaped' MPV form factor — but reinterprets it with a modern crossover hatchback profile. Features like the closed-off grille and slim LED headlights align with Audi's latest design language. Though the first-generation A2 was once playfully dubbed 'not serious enough' due to its unconventional styling, its class-leading drag coefficient offered valuable lessons for optimizing EV range — and the new A2 e-tron carries that philosophy forward, refining aerodynamic efficiency to maximize energy economy.

Four Power Outputs + Three Battery Options, WLTP Range Up to 649 km

According to Audi's official information, the A2 e-tron will offer four power outputs: 125 kW, 140 kW, 170 kW, and 240 kW — paired with three battery capacities: 50 kWh, 58 kWh, and 79 kWh. The top-tier variant delivers up to 649 km (approx. 403 miles) of WLTP range — slightly exceeding that of its MQB-platform rival, the ID.3 Neo.

Priced to Anchor the Entry-Level Segment — Nearly €10,000 Below Q4 e-tron

The car will launch first in Europe this fall, with a German starting price of €38,200 (approx. $44,000). By comparison, the current Q4 e-tron starts at €47,500 (approx. $54,000), creating a gap of nearly €10,000. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner stated the A2 e-tron aims to 'make entering the Audi world easier and more attainable.'

Notably, Audi emphasizes that this model will 'reinvigorate the brand.' Over the past two years, Audi has launched over 20 new models — claiming the industry's youngest product portfolio. The A2 e-tron further strengthens its entry-level electric lineup.
