Iveco was founded in 1975 as a joint venture among five companies from Italy, France, and Germany—Fiat, OM, Lancia Veicoli Speciali (Italy), Unic (France), and Magirus (Germany). It produces trucks, buses, and diesel engines and is a part of the Fiat Group. Iveco is now a market leader in medium commercial vehicles. In China, Iveco refers to the Sino-Italian joint venture Nanjing Iveco, established in 1995 by Nanjing Automobile Group and Fiat. With a registered capital of 2.527 billion RMB, each partner holds a 50% stake.
