Xiaomi Skynomad N70/N90 Extended-Range SUV Opens Pre-Orders, Starting at $38,410

The all-new extended-range mid-to-large SUV lineup — Skynomad N70 and N90 — from Xiaomi has recently launched blind pre-orders in the Chinese market. The five-seat Skynomad N70 carries a pre-order price of ¥259,900 (approx. $38,410), while the flagship seven-seat Skynomad N90 Max is priced at ¥299,900 (approx. $44,320). Both models are scheduled for official launch in September 2026, with deliveries not yet open.

Both models are built on Xiaomi's proprietary Kunlun platform and feature a 1.5-liter range extender supplied by Dongan Power, a subsidiary of Changan. The engine delivers a maximum output of 112 kW (150 hp) and is compatible with 92-, 95-, and 98-octane gasoline, achieving a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.26 L/100 km. The system uses the engine solely for power generation to drive the electric motor — it does not mechanically drive the wheels.

Battery options include two configurations: a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by Sun Vectra, and a 76 kWh ternary lithium battery from SVOLT. The N70 offers two powertrain variants — rear-wheel-drive with a single motor (210 kW / 282 hp) and all-wheel-drive with dual motors (300 kW / 403 hp) — delivering up to 505 km CLTC all-electric range and a low energy consumption of just 15.85 kWh per 100 km. The N90 Max is equipped exclusively with the 76 kWh battery, offering a 464 km CLTC all-electric range and supporting DC fast charging from 20% to 80% in just 18 minutes; the manufacturer claims a 285 km range can be added in 15 minutes.

The chassis features a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension, with three-level adjustable steering effort. The N90 Max achieves a minimum turning radius of 5.95 meters, a 100 km/h braking distance of 38.57 meters, and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. Its body structure incorporates 90.4% high-strength steel and aluminum alloys, with 16 structural points reinforced using 2200 MPa hot-formed steel — including a full-width hot-formed door ring spanning all three rows of seats, measuring 3.3 m × 1.5 m.

For intelligent driving, both models are equipped with the NVIDIA Thor 4 nm chip, delivering peak computing power of 700 TOPS, paired with a roof-mounted LiDAR. The cockpit integrates AI voice interaction, dual 5G + Wi-Fi connectivity modules, and an immersive audio system featuring 25 speakers, 4890 W peak output, and 7.1.4-channel surround sound.

Inside, the N90 Max adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. Front-row seats rotate 180° and, when paired with the optional foldable center console table, enable a 'mobile living room' configuration — delivering up to 1370 mm of maximum longitudinal space in four-passenger mode. Both front and rear seats come standard with 16-point massage and zero-gravity positioning. The N70 measures 4960 × 1998 × 1785 mm (L×W×H), with a wheelbase of 2950 mm; the N90 Max grows to 5285 × 1998 × 1825 mm, with a 3080 mm wheelbase.

As the domestic market share of extended-range EVs continues to shrink, Xiaomi has chosen this moment to intensify its rollout of the Skynomad series — aiming to carve out a niche in the segment dominated by  Auto, AITO, BYD, and DENZA through comfort-focused features, competitive pricing, and practical all-electric range. According to China EV DataTracker, Xiaomi sold 185,055 units in the first half of 2026 — a 17.2% year-on-year increase.
