Lexus RX Morizo RR Spy Shots Leaked! Aims at BMW X5 M, Launching in 2028

Recently, spy shots of the high-performance Lexus RX Morizo RR have surfaced. Developed by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, this vehicle is positioned as a high-performance mid-to-large SUV and marks GAZOO Racing's second Morizo RR model following the LBX Morizo RR.

The spy vehicle features a copper-gold paint finish with light camouflage: the hood, front bumper, and wheel arches are covered with masking tape. The front retains the RX's signature trapezoidal grille, while the lower corners appear to house air intake ducts or brake cooling ducts. Flared wheel arches enhance its wide-body stance, and the ride height is noticeably lower than that of the standard RX — thanks to a bespoke suspension setup. The car rides on 21-inch multi-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires (265/40 ZR21 front, 295/35 ZR21 rear), retains mechanical door handles, and features fixed calipers paired with ventilated brake discs. At the rear, it adopts a dual-exit exhaust system — departing from the current model's hidden layout.

Powertrain-wise, the RX Morizo RR is expected to feature TOYOTA's all-new 2.0T engine mated to a dual-motor hybrid AWD system, delivering a combined output of up to 600 hp — positioning it directly against BMW X5 M. The model is slated for launch in 2028; final specifications remain subject to official confirmation.
