On July 30, the FAW-VW ID. AURA T6 — the first strategic model of the Smart Electric 2.0 era — officially debuted in Foshan and simultaneously launched its blind reservation program. Positioned as a pure-electric midsize SUV for family users, the vehicle marks a pivotal step in Volkswagen's intelligent transformation. However, key details — including final pricing, launch timing, and specific range figures — remain undisclosed.

According to official information, the ID. AURA T6 adopts a China-specific "centralized computing + zone-based control" electronic/electrical architecture, powered by a 4-nm smart cockpit chip delivering ~20 TOPS of computing power. It supports over-the-air (OTA) updates across the entire vehicle and reserves dedicated compute resources for future AI Agent functionality. Its infotainment system integrates an on-device large language model, working in tandem with top-tier domestic cloud-based LLMs to deliver multimodal AI capabilities — including an AI-powered smart desktop, AI driving assistant, and AI travel concierge — covering use cases such as vehicle knowledge base queries, trip planning, roadside landmark recognition, and parking memory.
Hardware highlights include a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, a 25.8-inch AR-HUD, and a 10.25-inch anti-glare full-LCD instrument cluster; the audio system features an 18-speaker layout with an external amplifier rated at up to 920 W, and will support Dolby Atmos via future OTA updates. The vehicle also supports CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink smartphone connectivity, plus tablet screen extension and Wi-Fi-based remote vehicle control.
Design-wise, the ID. AURA T6 embodies "Practical Naturalism" Everus, offering six exterior colors: Yunque Gray, First Snow White, Pearl White, Starry River Blue, Distant Mountain Green, and Misty Purple. Interior color options include Velvet Beige, Honey Orange, and Cloud Gray — all featuring extensive use of skin-friendly materials. With a high interior space utilization rate (85.3%), the cabin includes one-touch bed mode, a "queen seat" front passenger seat, fold-out tables, and generous front-and-rear storage compartments.
For blind reservations, a ¥99 deposit expands to a ¥2,000 vehicle purchase credit. Existing customers of the Volkswagen Group and FAW Group receive an additional ¥5,000 subsidy for trade-in or upgrade purchases. Blind reservation holders also gain exclusive perks — including digital and physical app badges, invitations to the official launch event, and factory tours. All blind reservation benefits are non-exclusive and stackable with other purchase incentives.
