BMW X2 M40 Spy Shots Leaked: 48V Mild Hybrid + 330 hp, Launching July 2027

Spy shots of the all-new BMW X2 M40 mid-cycle refresh have recently been revealed. As the M Performance high-performance variant, the vehicle adopts the design language of NK's new-generation, with exterior details already taking shape — official launch is expected in July 2027.

The front end features a narrower oval-shaped grille, with headlights drawn inward — consistent with the updated X1's design philosophy. The front bumper incorporates vertical air ducts and a central active grille. At the rear, the angular taillight shape remains unchanged, though internal lighting elements are updated; the car also sports M-specific quad exhaust tips and a larger sporty rear spoiler. The side profile retains the current fastback SUV silhouette, complemented by multi-spoke sports wheels and high-performance tires.

The interior has been fully redesigned: the existing center console layout is gone, replaced by a panoramic digital instrument cluster and a 17.9-inch floating touchscreen. The infotainment system supports highly customizable display logic. Powertrain-wise, the model is designated X2 M40 xDrive — dropping the 'i' badge — and pairs a retuned 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48V mild hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 330 hp. It's mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and BMW's xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
