Recently, official interior images of the Volkswagen Zhongyu 09 were unveiled. As another major outcome of deep collaboration between Volkswagen Automobile and Chinese new-energy vehicle pioneer Xpeng Automobile, the Zhongyu 09 is positioned as a pure-electric mid-to-heavy-duty sedan, expected to debut in the domestic market and launch pre-orders in 2026. This vehicle is not a conventional 'badge-engineered' model; rather, it represents a comprehensive breakthrough for Volkswagen across intelligent cockpits, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and design language.

The interior design markedly diverges from current-generation Passat and ID. series models from Volkswagen, adopting a minimalist and highly structured layout Everus. The cabin emphasizes spatial openness and upgraded materials, featuring a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, full-width air-conditioning vents, a dedicated digital instrument display, and a square-shaped floating central touchscreen — the latter integrating an AI-powered intelligent assistant. A large-format AR HUD is standard across all trims, while the center console island integrates a wireless charging pad and concealed cup holders, balancing high-tech appeal with everyday practicality.

In terms of intelligence, the vehicle is equipped with the VLA large-model full-scenario intelligent driving system, enhanced L2-level ADAS features, and a high-performance computing platform — collectively elevating Volkswagen's technological benchmark in localized AI-powered intelligent driving.

Exterior styling adopts the 'Wolf Aesthetics' design language: the front fascia features richly layered lines; DLP high-definition matrix projection headlights support dynamic light functions such as lane light carpets and vehicle-width indicators; crystal-cut lighting elements harmonize with intelligent light strips, complemented by a bespoke wolf-head emblem and gold-accented logo for strong visual distinction. Powertrain options include single-motor and dual-motor pure-electric configurations: the single-motor variant delivers peak power of 230 kW and a CLTC all-electric range of 755 km; the dual-motor version achieves combined output of 370 kW and a CLTC range of 705 km. All variants are equipped with a CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a capacity of 91.963 kWh.
