Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II Global Price Cut; China May See Over RMB 1 Million in Combined Savings

BEV Status Eliminates 40% Large-Displacement Tax; Pricing Strategy Shifts to "Standardized Upspec"

The all-new Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II has officially launched, with simultaneous official price adjustments across multiple global markets. This move is not merely a straightforward discount — but rather a strategic repositioning of the ultra-luxury BEV's value proposition in China, leveraging tax-structure advantages inherent to its battery-electric platform.

According to publicly available information, the U.S. starting price has dropped from USD 420,000 to USD 398,000 — a reduction of USD 22,000; the UK price fell from GBP 365,000 to GBP 333,000 (a drop of 8.7%); and Germany's price plunged from EUR 439,000 to EUR 395,000 — down more than 10%. Notably, these adjustments stem directly from the vehicle's BEV status: in China, the Spectre qualifies for full exemption from the 40% large-displacement consumption tax, whereas comparable ICE flagship models Rolls-Royce Ghost and Rolls-Royce Cullinan remain subject to this levy — creating a substantial import-cost disparity.

Industry analysts note that the original China-spec Spectre carried a recommended retail price of RMB 5.75 million, while the Series II is expected to set its starting price range between RMB 5.15 million and RMB 5.45 million — a headline reduction of RMB 300,000–600,000. Simultaneously, popular factory options on the first-generation model — valued collectively at RMB 600,000–1 million and frequently selected by buyers — including two-tone paint, bespoke embroidery, and specialty exterior finishes — are expected to become standard across all trims, delivering "more equipment, no extra cost." This approach mirrors Aston Martin's proven DBX S strategy: an official price cut of RMB 600,000 plus RMB 721,000 worth of previously optional features now included as standard — yielding over RMB 1.3 million in total savings.

Based on this, the Spectre Series II's combined benefit package in China could reach RMB 1–1.5 million. If implemented, its final transaction price would align more closely with the global mainstream market level of RMB 2.8–3 million — helping resolve prior price inversion caused by tax disparities. This initiative may not only boost competitiveness but also reshape value expectations across the ultra-luxury BEV segment.
