BYD's First 7-Seat Plug-in Hybrid SUV Ti 7 Launches in the UK, Starting Below Land Rover Defender's PHEV

Equipped with DM-p Triple-Power All-Wheel Drive System; Up to 74-Mile All-Electric Range; Deliveries Expected from January 2027

BYD officially enters Europe's 7-seat mid-to-large SUV segment. Its all-new Ti 7 has recently opened for pre-orders in the UK, marking the brand's first plug-in hybrid SUV offering a three-row seating layout in this market. Notably, its starting price is £47,995 (approximately RMB 432,000), significantly lower than the benchmark Land Rover Defender 110 PHEV's £71,840 starting price.

According to official BYD disclosures, the Ti 7 was developed specifically for European and UK customer needs and is offered exclusively in the flagship Excellence AWD (all-wheel drive) trim. It features BYD's latest DM-p (Dual Mode performance) plug-in hybrid system — comprising a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and three electric motors — with a combined maximum output of 402 hp (408 PS) and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.8 seconds.

In terms of efficiency, the Ti 7 packs a 35.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery, delivering up to 74 miles (≈119 km) of all-electric range under WLTP conditions — and up to 102 miles (≈164 km) in urban driving. By comparison, the Land Rover Defender 110 PHEV achieves only 31.1 miles (≈50 km) of WLTP all-electric range.

Inside, the Ti 7 comes standard with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and an immersive 18-speaker audio system. The windshield and front side windows use acoustic laminated glass. Leather seats are standard across all trims, with heating and ventilation available on both front and outer second-row seats. A built-in vehicle refrigerator and beverage warming module are integrated into the center console.

For versatility, the second-row seats offer four-way adjustment, while the third row folds flat as needed. With both the second and third rows fully folded, cargo capacity expands to 1,830 liters. BYD emphasizes that the Ti 7's specification level is "unmatched among competitors at this price point."

The Ti 7 is now open for pre-order in the UK: customers can secure their order with a £500 deposit, which BYD will match pound-for-pound. Full technical specifications and detailed trim configurations will be released shortly, with first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in January 2027.
