The iconic British sports car manufacturer Morgan has officially opened U.S. order channels for its all-new two-seater Supersport. As a rare convergence of the brand's century-old craftsmanship and modern electronic architecture, this model has received U.S. federal certification as a 'low-volume replica vehicle' — and is expected to begin deliveries across more than a dozen authorized U.S. dealerships this fall of 2026.

Under the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) special exemption provisions for low-volume replica vehicles, the Supersport qualifies for streamlined certification — bypassing certain current passenger vehicle safety regulations. As a result, its annual sales quota in the U.S. is strictly capped at 325 units; as of July 15, 2026, only approximately 50 units remain available.
The model is offered in both convertible and fixed-roof body styles, powered by BMW's 2.0-liter B46 TwinPower turbocharged engine and paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Its powertrain shares origins with the BMW 330i and X3 — but Morgan has not disclosed specific output figures (e.g., maximum power of 58 kW and 85 kW, or peak torque of 130 N·m and 150 N·m), nor performance metrics such as 0–100 km/h acceleration time or top speed.

Mechanically and craft-wise, the Supersport carries forward Morgan's heritage dating back to 1909: hand-built wooden chassis, Smiths mechanical gauges styled after 1950s designs, side windows that slide open without lift mechanisms, and extensive use of lightweight aluminum structures. Notably, these vintage elements now sit atop a modern embedded electronic communication network — the instrument cluster connects to the vehicle's control systems via CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) for basic data exchange, though no smart cockpit or driver-assistance features are mentioned.
U.S.-spec production will commence in August 2026, with first deliveries scheduled to begin in September 2026. The base price stands at $119,995 (approximately RMB 865,000), excluding shipping costs. Per current U.S. regulations, Morgan's annual Supersport sales volume in the American market remains fixed at 325 units.
