Saab

Saab
SAAB was formed by the merger of Scania and the Swedish Aircraft Company, with the name originating from the aircraft company’s Swedish acronym. The logo features a crowned lion, symbolizing nobility and power in European culture, while the griffin—part lion, part eagle—represents vigilance and originates from heraldic symbols in southern Sweden, where SAAB began producing cars and aircraft. The design was created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. In December 2009, BAIC (Beijing Automotive) acquired key SAAB platforms, including those for the 9-3 and 9-5 models, to develop its own premium passenger car brand.
