China FAW Group Co., Ltd. (FAW) was originally founded as First Automobile Works in 1953. It now has 150,000 employees and assets totaling 434 billion RMB. It operates five major domestic manufacturing hubs in Changchun, Tianjin, Chengdu, Qingdao, and Foshan, with an annual capacity of 4.44 million vehicles. It also has one overseas plant and 12 authorized KD assembly plants, with a presence in 48 countries. FAW’s independent brands include Hongqi (B to E class), Jiefang (commercial vehicles), and Bestune (A0 to B class). FAW also operates joint ventures with VW, Audi, Toyota, and Mazda. In 2017, FAW sold 3.35 million vehicles and earned 469.8 billion RMB in revenue, ranking 125th in the Fortune Global 500.
