SHELBY

SHELBY
After retiring from racing, legendary driver Carroll Shelby began building performance cars. He famously installed a Ford V8 engine into a European chassis, marking the first time an American company won a FIA sports car championship. His GT40 went on to defeat Ferrari at Le Mans in 1966, winning four consecutive titles. In the consumer space, the Shelby GT500 and GT350, based on the Ford Mustang, became icons of American performance. For over 50 years, 'Performance is my business' has remained Shelby's enduring motto.
