Recently,HangzhouHangzhou Huge International Trading Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huge International"),a used car export enterprise based in Qiantang, successfully completed customs clearance for its first batch of 300 branded used car. This marks the first private enterprise in Hangzhou to independently complete vehicle export customs clearance since the city officially lifted restrictions on used car export qualifications.
Founded in 2015 in Qiantang, Huge International has been deeply engaged in the motor vehicle import and export trade for nearly a decade. Due to previous restrictions on used car export policies, the company had to rely on enterprises in pilot regions for customs clearance. Now, with the ability to handle its own export procedures, Huge International has paved the way for Hangzhou’s private enterprises to enter the used car export market.

At the beginning of this year, following the nationwide relaxation of used car export policies, the Qiantang District Commerce Bureau organized a practical training session on used car exports for Hangzhou enterprises. In collaboration with the Hangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, it also brought together Qianjiang Customs, the Municipal Traffic Police, Taxation Bureau, and other relevant departments to provide on-site guidance on the entire used car export process. Additionally, it established a smooth communication mechanism with the Provincial Department of Commerce, assisting enterprises in applying for used car export qualifications, which were successfully approved by the Provincial Department of Commerce at the earliest opportunity. Furthermore, the bureau actively helped businesses apply for export licenses, ensuring seamless support for their used car export operations.
For years, Japan, South Korea, and the United States have dominated the global used car export market, leaving little room for other countries to compete. China entered the used car export sector relatively late, with the central government only allowing pilot regions and enterprises to conduct exports in 2019. However, thanks to the active efforts of Chinese used car exporters, the industry has rapidly evolved—from nonexistent to emerging, from small-scale to growing influence—gradually establishing China as a key global exporter of used vehicles.
With the full removal of restrictions on used car exports, more market entities are expected to enter the industry. This trend will accelerate industrial upgrades, expand production capacity, and drive improvements across the entire automotive supply chain. As Hangzhou’s leading automobile industry district, Qiantang District will continue to seek strong support from provincial and municipal commerce authorities. By fostering close coordination among all relevant government departments, the district aims to enhance export efficiency for used car enterprises, encourage business expansion, and provide a strong support for to achieve a good export performance in the first half of 2025 across the district.
